My name is Patrick Thomas I was born and raised in San Antonio, TX and have lived out in Orange County, CA for the past 12 years to further my career in tattooing. I recently moved back to San Antonio to be closer to my family and start a new chapter in life and in work applying the skills I picked up while living in California and traveling around the world.
My passion for art began when I was about 5 years old. I would sit and observe my moms drawings, at the time she was attending art classes in college. This is when I developed a true passion for drawing and being creative.
After receiving my degree in web design with a minor in graphic design and working at a studio I quickly learned that it really wasnt for me. Soon after realizing this is when the opportunity for tattooing came about. I received an apprenticeship at the end of 2008 and began tattooing in the summer of 2009 and never looked back. The cool this is I was able to use a lot of the skills I learned in school and apply them to tattooing, mainly with the designs.
In 2014 I moved to Orange County to surround myself with some of the best artists in the industry. I have also had the opportunity to travel the world attending seminars, in Italy and mostly here in the U.S. to learn from some of the best artists in the world. It’s always been important to me to continue education to sharpen my skills, learn new things and stay inspired bringing the best quality of work I can to my clients.
The main types of work I typically do is black and grey illustrative realism (realism with some artistic interpretation to it), Asian influence, portraits, animals, religious and faith based themes. After going thru a lot of life and battles getting sober, beginning recovery in 2003, loosing my dad, family members and friends to addiction, surviving cancer and going thru chemo in 2019, Ive recently turned back to my childhood faith in God with a new understanding and I’m passionate about doing the faith based themed tattoos. I can also do color work upon request.
Recently in my career storytelling has also become an important part of my process. During a consultation I’ll typically ask a series of questions about your ideas to better understand your motivations and story behind the tattoo. It will help me to understand more fully a design that is specifically tailored to you and that you’ll be absolutely stoked to wear proudly for the rest of your days. I take the process and the trust that is given to me to create and execute a quality tattoo seriously. I am very grateful and passionate it to this day, nearly 17 years later. Thank you for your interest in my story, I cant wait to hear about yours and draw it out. Look forward to working with you soon!
